Fringe ‘ 96 article
Made by Hand/Hong Kong is an installation of inflated spheres covered
with palm prints and suspended from the ceiling of the gallery.
It also contains select hand tracings of palm prints on paper from
the recent UN Conference on Women. Each print lists the participant’s
name and country of origin. Viewers at the Fringe ‘ 96 will
be invited to add their own hand tracing to Made by Hand/ Hong Kong
at the Fringe Gallery.
This exhibit has been selected as one of the installations for Habitat
II at the UN conference in Istanbul (June 1996) and as part of the
video wall at the Underground Atlanta Summer Olympics ‘ 96.
